   KEVIN BREWER PAINTING PROJECTS

"Transforming properties from tired and dull to bright and dynamic"

Below are some pictures showing various projects we recently refurbished. Most had severe damp issues to the complete house, plus exterior structural cracks. Using our treatment methods, and expertise, we were able to restore like new. (See other pictures)

PREPARATION/DAMP ISSUES

Rising damp in buildings may be defined as the vertical flow of water up through a permeable wall structure or floor; the water being derived from ground water. The water rises through the pores (capillaries) in the masonry or concrete by a process loosely termed “capillary action.” In other words, the masonry acts like a sponge.

The treatment method will depend on whether the cause of the damp, or rising damp is affecting a solid floor, or is rising up a wall.

FINISH

Once we have established if and how the damp is affecting the exterior, we treat with a well known waterproofing compound. The surfaces are either re-plastered or scraped thoroughly. We allow to dry completely before a further coat is applied to ensure that it is sealed properly. The undercoat is then applied, followed by the final tinted coats. The final look is a well protected finish.

This residential home in JACKAL CREEK (Royal Troon), was for a complete exterior re-paint - 2 colors.

We undertake any painting projects be it, commercial or residential. See our home page for more details.
